What to Expect on This Private Giverny Tour

From Paris, enjoy a 1-hour drive through the French countryside with narration from your guide on the sights and landscapes you pass by en route to Giverny for a full day of art, gourmet food, and lush gardens.

Around 9am, you will arrive at Monet’s House and Garden for 30 minutes of exclusive access to the attraction before it opens to the public. The garden blooms year-round, and you’ll learn more about what you’re seeing from a helpful brochure provided by Fondation Claude Monet.  A highlight includes a visit in the garden that is home to the Japanese bridge and lily ponds that inspired one of Claude Monet’s most famous paintings: the “Nymphéas” (Water Lilies).

Afterward, head inside to Claude Monet’s house, where he lived with his family for 43 years. You will immerse yourself in the artist’s daily life by crossing the blue sitting room, the dining room, and his studio, all of which were completely refurbished.

Explore Giverny on your own

After your visit to the gardens and museum, you will take a short walk to the village for flowered houses, art galleries, cafes, and the famous rose-colored Hotel Baudy —  once the hangout for American Impressionists. If you like, there will be time to visit Claude Monet’s grave and the Sainte-Radegonde Church.

The transportation will be waiting for you at a predetermined meeting point for your return to Paris.

Wonderful guide on an overcast day

What a delight our guide and the tour was. There were 4 of us. As we left our hotel, our guide began immediately to discuss Paris and Monet. He arranged for us to be there a little early prior to the gardens officially opening so that the gardens were not quite as busy. It was a Monday in October. He took us back a different way so that even returning, we received wonderful information.

An Excellent, Insightful Tour

My wife and I fulfilled a long-held dream of seeing where Monet lived and worked for 43 years. Frederic was a superb guide with informed views on Monet’s career and accomplishments, his family life, and his context in contemporary art history. His commentary helped us fully appreciate the house and gardens of one of our favorite painters.

First Class Service and Care

My wife and I spent a wonderful day with Fabian at Giverny. He was not only super-punctual, but he also knew many interest facts about the property and Monet. We arrived about two minutes before the site opened and we were not rushed in the least bit. Although this tour was more expensive than some, it was worth every penny.
